What is a foot care nurse?
Nursing foot care is a foot care service provided by a nurse who has graduated from a recognized nursing program and holds a current active practicing license with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives. The nurse has taken further education and completed the course to be able to provide non-invasive foot care. The foot care nurse follows infection control protocols with his/her tools
The goal of the foot care nurse is to help you maintain your optimal, realistic foot health, by individually tayloring each client's care to their specific needs and educating our clients to prevent future complications.
Our feet are the foundation of mobility and overall health. Foot care nursing focuses on prevention, regular monitoring, and patient education to avoid complications like infections, ulcers, or chronic pain. As part of my training, I am able to help manage conditions like calluses, corns, fungal/thick nails, ingrown nails, diabetic foot care/monitoring/education and more.
